Vocation Scholarships, High School Scholarships, and Grade School Grant Winners Announced

    The WCU Board of Directors met Friday, April 24, 2009. They voted to award five $1,000 Vocation Scholarships for 2009.
    The winners this year are John B. Kelly, Conception Seminary College, Conception, MO; Conor Sullivan, Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, St. Louis, MO; Elizabeth Guiliani, Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Dubuque, IA; Matthew Bozovsky, University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein Seminary, Mundelein, IL; and Sr. Renae Hohensee, Sister of St. Francis of the Holy Family, Dubuque, IA.

    The Deputy Vice Presidents met Friday, April 24, to choose winners of the High School Scholarships and Grade School Grants for 2009.
    Winners of the $1,000 WCU High School Scholarships are:
Nicholas Andrew Hayden, St. Louis, MO. Andrew, the son of Constance and Paul Hayden, will be a junior at St. John Vianney High School, Kirkwood, MO.
Dylan Huber, Decatur, IL. Dylan, the son of Penny and Steven Huber, will be a sophomore at St. Teresa High School, Decatur, IL.
Hanna E. DeWilde, Perryville, MO. Hannah, the daughter of Peggy & Steve DeWilde, will be a junior at St. Vincent High School, Perryville, MO.
Katherine Schmelzle, Ste. Genevieve, MO, the daughter of Ralph Schmelze, will be a junior at Valle Catholic High School, Ste. Genevieve, MO.
Jonathan Hermann, Bloomsdale, MO, the son of Cynthia and John Hermann, will be a Senior at Valle Catholic High School, Ste. Genevieve, MO.

    The board again decided to award 20 Catholic Grade School Grants. Winners were drawn by the Deputy Vice Presidents. The WCU $500.00 grant winners were:
Benjamin Bader, Ste. Genevieve, MO, son of Mary Kay & Cloy Bader, will be in 2nd grade at Valle
Sydni Basler, Ste. Genevieve, MO, daughter of Dawn & Scott Basler, will in 4th grade at Valle
Brittany Barton, St. Mary, MO, daughter of Tina & Michael Barton, will be in 8th grade at Valle 
Emma Boessen, Meta, MO, daughter of Lora Boessen, will be in 4th grade at St. Thomas The Apostle
Jamie Hayden, Villa Ridge, MO, son of James Hayden, will be in 4th grade at St. John’s Gildehaus
Maria Rose Hayden, St. Louis, MO, daughter of Constance & Paul Hayden, will be in 4th grade at St. Mark Catholic
Andrew Hellmann, Washington, MO, son of Brenda Hellmann, will be in 4th grade at St. Gertrude’s
